新加坡的⼈⼝迅速⽼化，在未来的⼏⼗年⾥，将会有更多的年长居⺠。在2012年，第⼀批的战后婴⼉潮世代的⼈⺠年届65岁。目前，平均每12个新加坡⼈中，就有 ⼀位年龄超过65岁。到了2030年，这⽐例将是每5⼈中就有⼀位年长者。.这⼈⼝⽼化问题不只会⼤⼤地影响政府的政策，其他的企业和服务业也必需正视这个问 题。

因此，维持年长者的尊严与⽣活素质是⾄关重要的。我们必须为他们提供完整的， 有持续性的保健与相关的服务。

响应年长者的需要，东南社区发展理事会已于1999年12⽉推出了乐龄社区伸展项目(COPE)。汇集社区⾥所有的资源—-社团义⼯、保健专业⼈⼠、退休护⼠、宗教团 体与学⽣等帮，助年长者(以及他们的家庭)应付⽼化的挑战。

在这样的⼤环境下， 长⽼会社区服务于2008年4⽉与社区发展理事会组成决策伙伴，通过海格路的乐龄社区伸展项目，举办各项有益⾝⼼的活动,向社区⾥有需要的年 长者给予爱⼼的援⼿。

松年之友于2009年6⽉7⽇正式成⽴，由马林百列集选区国会议员暨马林百列集选区与基层组织顾问花蒂玛医⽣主持成⽴仪式。

`松年之友’是附属于志愿福利机构(VWO) — 长⽼会社区服务――的⼀个社区乐龄关怀事⼯，为东南社区发展理事会(SECDC)所认可。⾃2008年四⽉，松年之友就不 间断地为乐龄⼈⼠提供⾼效优质的服务。

这个项目的宗旨是为海格路地区的年长居⺠提供服务，藉着参与有益⾝⼼的活动，使能过着积极、健康、以及有意义的晚年。.这个项目 获得东南社区发展理事会与 芽笼⼠乃⺠众俱乐部的⿍⼒⽀持。

在关怀年长者的同时，我们也提供家庭及⼉童与⻘少年服务。我们深信通过跨代间双向活动的⽅式，能促进代与代之间融洽和谐的⼈际关系，帮助年长者积极⾯对⽣ 命，过着活跃充实的晚年。

 

Singapore’s population is ageing rapidly and there will be more elderly citizens in the next few decades. In 2012, the first batch of post-war baby boomers reached 65 years of age. One out of every 12 Singaporeans is aged 65 or above. By 2030, this ratio will become one out of four. The demographic shift will have an immense implication not only to government policy makers, but also to service providers as well among other things.

It is important for stake holders to ensure that the dignity and quality of life of our seniors are maintained. We need to provide them with a seamless continuum of healthcare and eldercare services as well.

In response to emerging needs of the elderly, South East CDC has launched the Community Outreach Programme for the Elderly (COPE) in December 1999. It is a determined effort to harness the collective resources of the community – corporate volunteers, healthcare professionals, retired nurses, religious groups and students – to help older people (and their families) cope with the challenges of ageing.

In this context, in April 2008, Presbyterian Community Services began to play an integral role as strategic partners with the CDC in reaching out to our needy elderly folks with intergenerational activities through COPE at Haig Road.

FRIENDS OF THE THIRD AGE was officially launched on 7 June 2009 and the ceremony was officiated by Dr Fatimah Lateef, Member of Parliament for Marine Parade GRC and Adviser to Marine Parade GRC and GROs,

“Friends of the Third Age” is an eldercare initiative under the auspices of the Presbyterian Community Services, a Volunteer Welfare Organization (VWO) in Singapore. It is endorsed by South East CDC (SECDC) who has engaged us to be involved with the Community Outreach Programme for the Elderly (COPE) programme in April 2008.

The specific aim of this programme is to provide care and promote opportunities for the elderly residents in the Haig Road area to live an active ageing lifestyle. The programme is supported by South East Community Development Council and Geylang Serai Community Club.

Along with the eldercare, we are running family and youth programmes as well. This is to support our eldercare services. We believe that an intergenerational approach is a wholesome way to deal with the issues of ageing.
